Project Leads
The DASS programme will be led by a distinguished team of academics from the Universities of Lancaster, Bristol, Warwick and the London School of Economics; details about their accomplishments and research interests can be found below.
Lancaster University
Idris Eckley, DASS Project Lead, is Distinguished Professor of Statistics at Lancaster University and Director of the STOR-i Centre for Doctoral Training. His research interests include wavelets and multiscale methods; time series: methods and applications; changepoint analysis; and statistics in business and finance.

University of Warwick
Yi Yu is a Professor in the Department of Statistics, University of Warwick. She is interested in various aspects of high-dimensional statistics and has worked in high-dimensional regression, statistical network analysis, change point analysis, nonparametric statistics, functional data analysis, differential privacy and graphical modelling. She was a recipient of the Philip Leverhulme Prize in 2023.

Lancaster University
Paul Fearnhead is Distinguished Professor of Statistics Lancaster University and leads the £8M "ProbAI: A Hub for the Mathematical and Computational Foundations of Probabilistic AI" project and is currently Editor of Biometrika. Paul has research interests in computational statistics, in particular sequential Monte Carlo and non-reversible MCMC; and algorithms for changepoint and anomaly detection.

University of Bristol
Haeran Cho is an Associate Professor in Statistical Science at University of Bristol with research interests in time series analysis, data segmentation, high-dimensional statistics and energy data modelling.

London School of Economics
Qiwei Yao is a Professor of Statistics at the London School of Economics with research interests in statistical inference for complex time series, including high-dimensional time series, dynamic networks, spatio-temporal processes, functional time series, nonlinear time series, and high-frequency data.
